Doc. Dimitar Božkov (Димитър Божков):
1) Philosophy and the New Left, srijeda 16. 5. 15:30-17:00 u sklopu kolegija Suvremena filozofska terminologija II (izv. prof. Ankica Čakardić)
Sažetak: These two lectures aim to give a short history of the development of Marxism from the 60’s until today, especially in the French context. I interpret the ideas of Althusser, Foucault, Balibar and Ranciere in the context of their understandings of power, resistance and society. An important point is also how these philosophical ideas affect the contemporary social movements and the ways people resist power.

2) The Liberation Theology and the Latin-American Religious and Political Contexts, petak 28. 5. 11:00-12:30 u sklopu kolegija Etika II (red. prof. Hrvoje Jurić)
Sažetak: The Catholic Marxism in Latin America represents an interesting phenomenon on the crossroad between the political and the religious. It was often the base of some of the most influential social movements on the continent, both as philosophical-theological reflection on the social reality and as a response to the great social injustice and authoritarian politics.

Prof. Sonja Karabeljova (Соня Методиева Карабельова)
1) Cross-Cultural Differences (Based on the Model of Hofstede), četvrtak 27. 5. 13:15-14:45 u sklopu kolegija Selected Topics in Philosophy (doc. Ljudevit Fran Ježić)
Sažetak: The topic presents a model investigating value orientations which are at the core of people’s everyday behaviours. Values are formed and developed at an early age, they are based on the models of behaviours part of one’s family, as well as the traditions and beliefs, which are transferred from generation to generation. Together, these serve as the basis of the value-belief system of the individual and their way of thinking, i.e. mentality. Values remain relatively stable overtime and change occurs very slowly, thus they directly reflect over adult behaviours. Understanding the differences in the dominant value orientation contributes to the increase in efficacy in people’s interactions on individual, group and community levels. It also leads to higher levels of well-being. The topic will present and compare data about value dimensions in Bulgaria and Croatia based on the model by G. Hofstede.

2) Life on the Internet, četvrtak 17:45-19:15 u sklopu kolegija Filozofija odgoja (doc. Matija Mato Škerbić)
Sažetak: The use of social media is a very current and important topic. Two years ago people under the age of 21 were thought to spend the majority of their lives online, however, nowadays this is the reality for billions of people around the world. Due to this, it is important to establish whether the use of online social networks could lead to addiction, or increased levels of stress. It is also vital to understand if there is a connection with personality traits as well as levels of happiness and well-being. This topic presents results from an empirical study among young people from Bulgaria.
